HEGNER - Variable speed footswitch released in 2018 and fitted to certain newly purchased machines already fitted with variable speed motors. I understand it is not spring-return loaded.
The VS foot pedal effectively moves the dial-up variable speed electronics from the hand controlled speed control unit under the front of the work table down to the variable speed control footswitch.
This Variable Speed (VS) footswith can be fitted to existing Hegner machines which are already factory fitted with VS motors with shaft encoders.
Unfortunately single speed motors are NOT suited to the use of this VS footswitch.
Fitting this VS footswitch is an option for users who are faced with replacing hand dial-up speed control units which have failed or for users for whom the added facility of foot operated variable speed is valued enough to justify the price.
VERSIONS - there are two.
To ascertain your machine model if in doubt, un-plug the machine from the power, un-screw the 4 corner screws of the control box and confirm the vintage.
Note: With the exception of the largest industrial scroll saw, the Polycut, the variable speed controller and motor assembly are the same across the range of Hegner scroll saws. This means the Multicut 1, 2S, SE and Quick saws already fitted with V/S motors are candidates for the new V/S foot control assembly.
Item Code: A7020 - fits older machines manufactured before early 2023. This unit has a row of spade terminals and two post terminals which serve the shaft encoder.
Item Code A7021 - fits current model machines with a white multi pin connector
See the photos below.
A7020 - has 6 spade terminals and 2 post terminals
A7021 - has a quick connect white multi pin plug
Note that from Australia we supply 230 volt AC units suited to 50 Hz mains supply.
See HERE for spare standard V/S controller units which have a hand operated dial-up speed controller.
