PENTACRYL - High Moisture Content Wood Stabiliser

Preservation Solutions’ Pentacryl™ is a wood stabilizer used by woodcarvers, woodturners and furniture makers to keep green wood from cracking, checking and splitting during the drying process.

Pentacryl™ will not react with the tanic acids in the wood and will make your wood look cleaner and brighter! If you enjoy turning or working with green wood but struggle with cracking, checking or warping, you need to take a closer look at Pentacryl™! 

Excellent results have been achieved with many types of wood including Eastern White Pine, Basswood, Tupelo, Walnut, Apple Wood, Hawthorne, Cherry, Rock Maple, Soft Maple, Ash, Modrone, Bamboo and many others.

Pentacryl™ can be brushed on or for smaller pieces, the wood can be immersed and soaked into a 100% solution of Pentacryl™. Dyes can be added to the Pentacryl™ or the wood can be stained after treatment.

Once the wood is dry, any type of finish and glue can be used on the wood. Pentacryl™ will not discolor the wood, is non-hygroscopic and will not oxidize, decompose or migrate in the wood when exposed to different degrees of temperature and relative humidity.

WOOD JUICE - Low Moisture Content Wood Stabiliser

Wood Juice is a specially formulated product for treating dry or semi-dry wood to prevent future checking, cracking and warping.

Bear in mind that all solid wood sections which have reached equilibrium moisture content in a temperate geographical location typically experience annual seasonal expansion and contraction cycles caused by taking on moisture in summer and drying in winter.  This can result in wood splitting long after it had been assumed to be seasoned.

If like many people you have a stash of wood put by for that special use one day consider a product like this.

This product will provide more stability to the wood. It was developed to compensate for the difference in lower moisture content of the drier wood. Whereas, Pentacryl™ is formulated to stabilize green or fresh cut wood with a higher moisture content.

POLYCRYL FORTIFIER - Soft, Punky or Spalted Wood Fortifier

END GRAIN SEALER

End Grain Sealer is a non-toxic wax emulsion that is applied to the end grain of green wood or the face grain of turning blanks or carvings. This product is beneficial when you want to slow down the drying of green wood, since the end grain dries much faster than the rest of the wood resulting in end grain cracking and splitting.

Water wash up in hot water.
