Stubai tenon cutters double as upscale plug cutters. Because these cutters lack a central stabilising brad point they are best used in a drill press with the work piece firmly clamped down. They can be used by hand on site by making an outer guide by drilling a hole equal to the outside diameter of the tenon cutter in a board and clamping or standing on this board to get the tenon cutter started in the work.
