June 1st 2010 - Australian GST Glitch - Apologies to our overseas buyers who have had order confirmations which include the Australian domestic goods & services tax.  We're getting the site tweaked so that you will see GST exempt pricing soon.  In the meantime we will subtract the GST component for all overseas customers.


May 4th 2010 - We're launched!! Our new site is up.  Please enjoy but we would appreciate feed back any glitches, missing or incorrect data.  We have to work through content for several thousand items and it takes time.

Feb 15th 2010 - Today I placed an order for some Stubai, Austrian made carving tools (for whom we are agents) for a voilin maker in Melbourne who had been loaned a set of heritage carving tools by an 80 year old mentor maker who loves these tools so much he pretty much sleeps with them. Stubai have offered to buy them off this old guy (a German trained Dutchman who migrated to Australia after WW2) to include in their museum in Austria.

 

Feb 10th 2010 - I have another order today for tools for another Sydney based Dutch emigree (as it happens) who makes rocking horses for the likes of Tom Cruise - charges $10 to $15K each.

 

Feb 8th 2010 - A cabinetmaker in the US after high precision squares with tolerance specs, a school with a scroll maintenance saw problem, a tradesman with a battery to get repacked with new rechargeable cells.

 

Feb 4th 2010 - A customer needing advice and referral for a "bronze disease' problem he has (we supply him wax) for a working replica of the early mechanical computing machine made by Babbage in the UK (probably the only one in the world which is destined for Canada).Skunk Hair shellac blender brush, a company in Melbourne needing threaded brass inserts, a guy neeeding a walnut coloured microcrystalline wax stick for furniture repair, a customer needing a replacement quartz clock mechanism.
