This pyrography tool uses a very low voltage, step down transformer to deliver a massive current to the hot wire tip which is infinitely controllable by the variable heat controller. The wire is a special alloy which resists softening and can be shaped to suit the work required. For spare wire tips search at S0621.

IRONCORE PYROGRAPHY KIT
Item Code: E0121 is an Australian made hot wire pyrography tool. Pyrography is the art of burning designs into suitable materials. It is also known as pokerwork dating from the days when a poker was placed in an open fire as the means to heat the tool.
Pyrography tools are usually one of two types, hot wire or nib. Nib types typically have an interchangeable nib which is heated by induction by a heating element set behind the nib. Hot wire types are more immediate and work by the heating element doubling as the tool tip - the current actually flows through the special hot wire.
The Ironcore unit has a step down transformer (essential for any reasonably effective pyrograph) and a stepless heat control which is the secret to the sucess of this unit. The ability to very finely adjust the heat in the tip is very useful.
The voltage in the handpiece is harmless - a maximum of 5 volts.
Ironcore spares:
- Packet of 10 tips - Item Code: S0621
- Handle assembly - Item Code: S0600
For a Nib type pyrograph go to Item Code: E0123 "
