By default we will dispatch from Sydney, metric calibrated templates and include a reducer collet - 1/2 inch outside to 8mm inside. The metric templates we supply are made in Canada principally for the European market and the two standard bits packed with the jig, #80-8 and #140-8, have 8mm shanks, a European shank standard, a little different to Australia and North America which use 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch standrads. Although introducing another shank diameter into your Australian workshop may complicate matters slightly we believe 8mm shank bits offer bonus extra rigidity over the 1/4 inch, particularly given the necessarilly relatively long and slender bits required for fine work with the Leigh templates. You can of course if you wish stay entirely with 1/4 and 1/2 inch shank bits and use the 1/4 inch reducer collet you would have bought with your router. In other words the cutting ends and function of the cutters are standard regardless of shank diameter
